I began oil painting plein air at the age of 18 and continued into my mid-twenties.

After a gap of almost three decades I took up painting again and I haven’t looked back.

I like to paint local scenes in my home town of Drogheda and surrounding countryside in counties Louth and Meath.

I paint outdoors whenever I can but when I’m in my studio I paint from reference paintings, drawings or photos that I’ve taken on site.
